Petz, Would not errata show up in the talk areas and comments to OEMs that might leak> Or can AMD stay on top of it by constant BIOS and microcode tweakery? Has anyone compared BIOS from the majors, over time to see if they have changed to hide a bug? same for the microcode...if accessible through access pins etc. Of course AMD might say nothing, they have not had egg on face. Intel learned that an open door policy vis-a-vis errata was bext, but Jerry still wants deep spin control?
With enough care bugs can be eliminated. Remember there are just so many commands. It may be that the SSI came so late in the game that Intel had insufficient time to discover all the bugs by systematic methods.
