It's kind of hard for me to compare the gorilla of CRM (SEBL) with Commerce One outside of returns. Click back a post or two to follow the link to the 50 week chart of i2, Siebel, Commerce One and Ariba.

I am very happy with the this year's return on Siebel and don't see any 'negative' effects from the fact that Commerce One's lock period caused the stock to drop from yesterday's high. Certainly some crazy price moves in the market in some of these issues. I fear the crazy moves simply jumped to Qualcomm today based on one man's comment about a 12 month price target. I've been informed on the JDS Uniphase board that Paine Webber has a sales force of 10,000 and since Qualcomm was a new coverage report, there were a lot of PW clients being 'instructed' to buy. I'm not sure what the issues surrounding the price target of $1000 for Commerce One were, but certainly am amazed that something like 40% of the 12 month price target could be reached in one day's time - no matter what the stock.

I don't see any correlation between the Commerce One activity and Siebel. I believe Siebel closed up for the day $1 and change. The volume was about one third the daily average for Siebel, so I wouldn't make any bold predictions on a low volume day.
