Uncle frank what a great day for us Q holders, the G&K philosophy, the G&K thread and a great day for my family and I.
It only seems like yesterday that I came to SI with all my dreams and hopes smashed to bits. it's amazing how far i've come in 90 days. I came to SI only because someone copied a post from the Q thread here and posted it on the yahoo Q board. I read it and said wow what a great post. As i was very nervous about the Q shares i was holding, i wanted to read all i could to stay informed.
so i joined SI. little did i know what i was getting into.
in fact i asked a question regarding wcdma royalties and got a response that it was being debated heavily over on the G&K thread. Well i had no idea what the G&K thread was. everytime i put G&K into the search box i would get a dead bowling alley header. had no idea what that was either. it took me two weeks before i found out that G&K stood for goriila & king. Thats when things began to change.
Someone posted something about being down a few yrs back and how far they'd come. it struck a chord in me since it was only a week or so prior that the stock i recieved for the sale of my company collapsed. i basically lost everything i worked my whole life for. thank goodness i sold a small portion in july and put it into Q. but i was so damaged and depressed i was basically reading the g&k and Q threads for a signal to sell. i wasn't going to get caught holding the bag again. but after i posted my story i got some unbeleivably nice responses which instilled a trust in me about the people on the thread. one post gave me my courage back, it was from down south which i will never forget. it said that my life's work will only have been wasted if i don't do anything about my situation. how appropriate, i was sitting there doing nothing accepting the beating i took as final. so after reading that i decided to fight back, i've always had to fight my way thru life, i started my buisness at 18 with $50 and have been on my own since 19 and have been knocked down many times but always got right back up.this last knock down seemed like a ko punch in the last round and the ref was up to 8. luckily i got hit so hard i landed here and was motivated to fight back. so i sold more company stock for what ever i could get and instead of looking to sell i bought more Q. the more i read the thread the more i understood the lingo(at first i had no idea what you guys were talking about) and the more confident i became. then i read the manual and was hooked.
i bought gemstar, ntap, jdsu. then jerry miller got me into options. soon i was into gorilla research day and night.
my wife and daughter thought i lost my mind but they never lost faith in me and let me do my thing and it is for them i do everything. it seemed no matter how much time and effort i put into the G&K project i found i barely could keep up, i don't know how most of you do it, especially you uncle frank before you quit your job. work has already become secondary for me for two reasons. first, this is more important to me and my family's future, secondly i enjoy it immensely. and now thanks to you uncle frank, down south, professor merlin, apollo,tekboy, voltaire and many others, i don't have to work as of today but will do so until the future of my loyal
employees is secure(if i leave the parent co. would close my shop up and my people would be out of work).
sorry for rambling but i was never good with words and feel i have not expressed the true depth of my graditude. this is a special place filled with special people and i just want you all to know that this person realise's it and that you have made a profound difference in this person's life. never again will i look at another company unless it is to determine it's gorilla or king dna. in 90 days i made back a lifetime's worth of stock losses from every cockemame investing strategy/news letter known to man. my eyes have now been opened and i now laugh at the idiots on cnbc( one of them said today that he would sell Q and buy monsanto,maria said hmm it's down 25%), barons and etc. the rest of my investment life will be spent hunting strictly gorillas and kings.
hopefully if some other poor beat up soul wanders here I can do for them what has been done for me.
