I disagree, using your rubber band analogy, I think the rubber band has been pulled taught, and is about to fly.
I seriously douby that there will be any meaningful sell off after
Quidel reports earnings. Fortunately, most Qdel shares are held by institutions, and if they were going to sell off they have already done so. To the contrary, I expect that they will be much more buying of Qdel stock after earnings are released, both by individuals and institutions.
Whay merit would a stock holder lawsuit have, even if Quidel were found to have infringed on a patent, I would think it would have to be demonstrated that they did so knowingly-fat chance of that happening.
