Mitch,
i'm working on a puzzle.
any help, from anyone on the thread would be greatly appreciated.

i follow Tootsie Roll Industries (NYSE: TR) (yes, the very same).
if you look at their chart starting in November (halloween is always their
big quarter) you'll find them right around their 50 day moving average... until the end of January, at which time the stock
starts to move up at 45 degrees.

on January 31,1997 American Express seems to have bought several
million shares of Tootsie Roll, along with a company called
IDS Life Capital Resource Fund, an investment company, and a client of AXP.

i haven't been at this very long, and i don't always understand my
homework. but am i reading this right...?
edgar-online.com

have they quietly bought 10 percent of TR...? and why?

thanks

J.
