SECTOR:

Relative to the 65 5/8 trade that somehow "became" the last
trade, when this sort of thing has happened (in AMD shares)
it seems to be part of a sequence:

-- take the closing price as high as possible
-- gap the stock down in the morning as much as possible
-- scare people into selling
-- soak up all the shares
-- take her up again

If I were a market maker wondering where my inventory was going to come from the next day, it might be something I
would consider. I might also short a few shares, here and there just to help the house account along a bit.

I never was much for "conspiracy theories", but maybe something like this is common practice. Is it?
