When die hard short-sellers spend most of their energy playing long, my alarm bells go off that we have another ultimate contrarian indicator.

It does help a stock move north when there is no fear that shorts will attack it. . . or that there is large short opposition.

An example of one of our SAMs getting mired in mud . . . LPTHA has had a dramatic increase of short positions during December. Here is a site that illustrates what I am saying: dimgroup.com

349% increase in short positions. . . 1.06 million shares, up from just 233,600. That explains why we were doing so well in November, then were suddenly walking in deep sucking mud.

Short positions have much to do with price movement.
