All,

This is the kind of banking crap Canadians have to put up with
while their bank rapes millions of dollars off the Canadian
consumer. After living in the USA for the past 5 yrs, let me
say that, in general, Canadians don't really understand how bad
they are getting ripped off.

This brokerage service everyone complains about is just one of
many banking ripoffs that Canadians are oppressed with.

I use TD Waterhouse for my RRSPs I left back in Canada and I
find their service intermittently good. You MUST use stink
orders if you want any kind of speed. That means you have to
be thinking ahead, putting in stink orders for stocks that
you MIGHT want to trade in. I usually put in orders for only
the stocks I want to trade and these are always within the
cash in my account. I doubt you can put in orders beyond your
account balance even though you will only execute a select
number of these orders. Even with these stink orders, the time
it takes to make a change order can vary enormously. Phoning
is a waste of time since you must go through 2 levels of menus
and then get some kind of receptionist who then puts you in
contact with a real broker. This is the most bizarre form of
service I can think of. It makes me think that they are treating
traders like babies when they are really adults making their own
decisions.

Enough of my rambling. Happy New Year All!
