Heinz, my vote is still that they will be using y2k as a fig leaf when it pops.

The absolutely fascinating thing right now is listening to several people I work with who are sitting on 100%+ gains on some of these firecracker stocks anguish over whether or not sell now and take the tax bite or not. They are FULLY aware of how goofy it is but don't want to give even a fraction of the gain back in the form of taxes and are planning on selling early next year. Your tax loss theory is very valid based on what I am hearing.

The Fed has succeeded in creating the most volatile situation imagineable, it is just waiting for a match.

Regards, Ken.
