It was interesting watching the early gains (174+) followed by the sharp selloff (152+) in JDSU. It stabilized at 164 to 165. I take all of that price action as positive.

The "attempts" to cause this stock to tank did not work. So what we have now is a larger percentage of longer term shareholders. The momentum investors (and some profit takers or weak hands) have left. There were probably many who remember what happened a few weeks ago when the stock headed south down to 210 from highs of 270. I guess they would have sold in the last few days (or this morning) in the hope of better buying opportunities in JDSU. Today's strong support will cause many to come back once they get their confidence back. That is what happens when the sell high and hope for a buying opportunity strategy fails. Certainly the strong support may keep many from wanting to sell.

I am hoping for a big close as long as the Nasdaq stays strong. Certainly the hedge funds would want to go long this market going into January and i am betting that it will only add more fuel.

Good Luck (and happy new year)

BTW--still looking for a strong finish (10+ points) but i will settle for the current 165 approx for now.
