Jungle, Y2K and Oil

I don't know what the possibility is. Many talk about the embedded chips as not being date sensitive. I think political or terrorist disruptions are far more likely.

The point I made with this issue some time back was that virtually ANY disruption will be seized upon by the media. They will turn it into a BIG issue. It'll take time for the traders to confirm all the facts. In the meantime you'll have speculation and it'll drive oil prices quite high.

The other possibility is that we have ZERO disruptions and we sell off a little on the news.

Given that E&P's are cheap based upon $18 oil I'd rather take my chances buying them pre-y2k as I see more upside than downside to y2k issues. E&P's most closely track commodity prices.
