FedEx to implement 3 percent fuel surcharge

American Airlines Cargo announces fuel surcharge
FORT WORTH, Texas, Dec 28 (Reuters) - American Airlines' (NYSE:AMR - news) cargo division announced Tuesday a fuel surcharge to offset the large increase in worldwide fuel prices over the past year.

American Airlines Cargo's surcharge, which will be effective Feb. 1, 2000, will include a charge of 10 cents per kilo across the North Atlantic and on routes from the United States to Latin America. In other markets, including the domestic United States, Canada and the Caribbean, the rate will range between 4 cents to 10 cents per kilo.(cont)
