Written during some dark dark trading times not too long ago...not long enough!!....:)

I Hope

I hope there will come a time
When I can look back on these days
like a person who got a bad tooth pulled
painful but necessary
But right now today
there is just this throbbing
for which I take the aspirin of optimism
to ease the pain
Holding on tightly to the idea
that today's loss
is tomorrow's gain.

Today

I am living the time
I used to dream of
even though
the flicker of hope I had
seem extinguished more often than not

And I can look back
on those dark dark days
in that dark dark room
in that dark dark closet
where I hovered by myself
in the corner of impending doom
and felt that the lights would never come on again

And today
as I walk in the warm trading sunshine
warming my hands
my face
my heart
and letting my frost-bitten hope
start to get feeling again
I start to look up at the sky
of possibilities again
where I once used to dwell
and for a time
while in that cold dark closet
had almost given up hope
of ever seeing again

And now I feel a heart welling gratitude
a certain just born baby dear shakiness
as I blink in the bright light
unsteady
but none the less
reborn
and I know
for all that what was
there is now
for all
that can be
