Aol thread-

I have been a lurker here for lo these many months and truly enjoy the many informed opinions. I would like some opinions on some thoughts I have had on the recent action of AOL.

The action for AOL over the last few weeks can only be described as strange. I like to keep my eye out for strange action because often there is something behind it, sometimes big money. Specifically, why has there been such little if any comment from analysts during this period? Why wouldn't Mary Meeker and a host of other analysts be commenting on the happenings at AOL and their impact on the stock i.e. 20 million subscribers, WMT, Circuit City? Why has AOL been so quiet?

My feeling is that this action to suppress the stock price and to refrain from commenting is intentional. Is it just coincidence that there will be 14 new internet funds that open in Jan. or early 2000 most of which will have AOL as a significant holding? Is there a big deal on the horizon (AOL/ATHM/ATT)?

What I'm getting at is that I believe AOL will suddenly become a darling again in Jan. and make a significant run.

I would appreciate any thoughts from the illustrious members of the thread.
Thanks.
