Gary, Re: any chance this compag problem is related to use of sh*tty (i.e. non-Intel) CPUs? I don't think it has anything to do with the CPU but more with the product line. Compaq's Presario line and IBM's Aptiva line both suck(had the chance of using both a few years ago when they were Intel only models). One interesting thing though is that now both use non-Intel CPUs. Gary
