Good comparison, thanks. . . I like this part. . .
IDC's technology uses more bandwidth than Qualcomm's; as such it is called B-CDMA, for broadband CDMA.
The manager admits that at some point Qualcomm clearly intends to “evolve” its CDMA into wider bandwidth applications. “And you know,” he continues, “Qualcomm certainly has a lot of currency right now. They may just say, ‘hey,' let's buy it and avoid patent infringement litigation and all that other stuff.”
QCOM at 700 bucks with CDMA patents. . .
or IDC at 65 bucks with BROADBAND CDMA [B-CDMA] patents. . . .
What is to ask? There is no comparison in value. If you ask me. . . I think Wall Street screwed up big time on this one.
Q: What do you call a stock that makes a modest amount of revenues, but has the hope that their technology will one day become used by everyone and they will make a mint?
A: a penny stock
QCOM is now a 700 dollar version of a penny stock speculative play based on a single industry, which is still unsettled. Man. . .when this one comes down, it is going to hurt badly. . . .and tomorrow it splits 4-for-1. So today, the trading range was 100 dollars. . . . a 100 point move after tomorrow will be like a 400 point pre-split move. . . this will be very interesting to watch. . . but even now, I don't have a good feeling about it. . . .
However, I have my full positions in IDC. . . it is a no-brainer in the low 60's, in my opinion. . . just wish it traded on the Naz.
