James, in order to construct a scenario that I would consider "reasonable" that involves Jim, you have to either a) eliminate the use of a car, or b) explain how when the police searched his car they didn't find any evidence Suzanne had ever been in the car (fingerprints, hair, fiber, blood, etc.), nor evidence the car was wiped clean, washed, and vacuumed to cover these things up, nor evidence he stole or rented a car that night.

If you are able to do either of the above, there are a variety of scenarios that would be possible.
