The "short-term" momentum will have faded if it trades sideways or down for about 3 days in a row (that's just my humble opinion). AMD should pick up momentum again before their earnings release in mid January (close to TYC release). CPQ has been looking good as well.
QCOM has momentum, but its way too volatile and overpriced. A lot of chip stocks like LSI Logic have a nice chart, with good long-term momentum, but not too great for short-term momentum trading... and besides, I think many tech stocks are headed for a correction in mid-January.
I don't see very much I find as attractive as TYC right now. I may go to mostly cash position by mid-January (except I'll hold TYC, as I think TYC will be impacted only slightly by a tech/NASDAQ correction, and will recover just as quickly, unless various world or economic events make all equity investments poor).
