Frank-- Part of the FUD, and it continued in your response
to me, is that there ARE NO OADMs (All Optical Add-Drop
Multiplexers) that can process SONET/SDH overhead in
the SONET/SDH frame. Remember, those are the Bytes in Section/Line/Path and other such as the DCC's and the
Automatic Protection Switch Bytes. We have'nt violated
physics yet and figured out how to "read optical bits/Bytes
without electrical conversion".

As far as I know, Ciscos Spatial Reuse Protocol, or in
market-speak, Dynamic Packet Transport, DPT, is quite
alive and well and several carriers have adopted the technology. It works quite well in MAN environments and in
POPs. You seem to know quite a bit about it.
