<Is Amati also involved in cable modems?>

The article you posted refers to the IEEE 802.14 committee, which has become largely irrelevant (IMHO) after the cable industry released their initial MCNS spec last month. The IEEE group may produce work which is more technically elegant, but by the time they do (certainly not before sometime next year), market-based factors will already be determining deployment decisions. As of now, prospective vendors are either MCNS compliant or they will have to earn their money overseas.

Other than web-site engineering, I haven't seen any evidence that Amati is involved in cable. Anyone else know of any participation in trials, partnering, etc. in this area?
