Del- any God that would tell people to kill other people isn't a very nice God. Whether the God is real (and let's hope he isn't eh? Who wants that kind of As*hole running the universe) or whether he is a manifestation of man's inner desire to have EVERYTHING his own way, which all men have, it really doesn't matter does it? Any way you slice it all those Biblical exhortations to exterminate are just stinkin' thinkin'. But my problem with it will always be that quote about needing religion to make "good" people do bad things. Of course those people only think they are good- by any objective (or as objective as humans can get) standard good people can't do bad things- since people ARE their behavior. When they are doing bad they ARE bad.
