Yesterday's option activity in the QQQ was a continuation of the recent trend, as speculators added more new put positions. In fact, total put open interest for the front three months rose by 16,641 contracts, while total call open interest actually declined by 99 contracts. As a result, the total put/call ratio rose to 5.15. It will be interesting to watch the trading in the QQQ again today to see if frenzied investors/speculators continue to hedge tech positions or make outright bearish bets.
