I couldn't figure out the Netscape Help menu directions for transmitting a floppy disk as an em attachment, but did manage to do it correctly after a couple of tries. Here are my dumbed-down instructions for those as computer-challenged as I am. (I had to send them to someone, so wrote them out.)

No fair ridiculing.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
HOW TO TRANSMIT A DISK AS AN EMAIL ATTACHMENT
1. On Netscape Communicator, bring up empty email form just as though you were writing an ordinary email.
2. Fill in the "To:" address line and the "Subject" line.
3. Insert the disk you want to transmit into the correct slot.
4. Now note that at the top of the email form are buttons for Send, Quote, Address, Attach, Save, Security, and Stop.
5. Click Attach... file
6. Do not worry that for some incomprehensible reason the addressee disappears. The computer knows it is there.
7. Into the "Look in" slot, bring up 3 1/2 floppy A (or whatever is correct; maybe it's not a floppy disk you're transmitting.)
8. You will see names of what is on the disk appear in the window. Highlight the one you wish to send as an attachment, and you will see its name appear in the "File name" slot.
9. Click "Open" and that file name appears on the line in your email where the addressee usually is. Do not worry.
10.Click Send. You will see that it takes ages for the msg to finish transmitting. This shows it's working.
11.(I don't know how to send more than one item that is on the disk (see number 8) at the same time, because you can only highlight one of them. Can someone tell me how to do that?)
12.Remove the disk, put it away.
