WOW !!!

"Besides computers, Grant Evans, Identix's vice president and general manager, said he expects his company's products to appear at retail checkout counters and in cable boxes to expedite online purchases through TVs."

Retail checkout counters = VISA/MASTERCARD smartcard application

Cable Boxes = ATT/TCI/ATHOME high speed internet access modems for residential

IDX on everybody's TV top and at every checkout counter - Is that ubiquitous enough?

Every year one of us predicts that next year will be the year biometrics breaks out. Until now we have always been wrong. This year it is my turn.

I predict that during 2000, biometrics (specifically Identix) will be identified as the next, crucial enabler of E-commerce and IDX will exceed $30 this year on a frenzy induced explosion caused by a major investment in IDX or the announcement of a major corporate adopter of biometrics.

Remember my post on Oracle providing the E-commerce software for Ford and Boeing's parts acquisition network? Randy has mentioned Ford several times before. I believe that significant new revenues, not necessarily profits, and a few marquee names will be all that are needed in the current market to send IDX into orbit. I can list 25 stocks that have skyrocketed to huge market caps recently on $20 million or less in annual revenues, a wing and a prayer.

The market is ripe.

Happy New Year!
