I have been tracking RIMM for a while, but this piece of news concerns me. How will this affect their future business, in your opinion? If it weren't for this, I would have probably bought a small position.

RESEARCH ALERT - Research In Motion cut
NEW YORK, Dec 23 (Reuters) - U.S. Bancorp said on Thursday that it trimmed its Research In Motion Ltd. (NasdaqNM:RIMM - news) earnings-per-share view for the fourth quarter and 2001.

-- said cut Q4 eps view to $0.06 from $0.07.

-- said cut 2001 eps view to $0.45 from $0.50.

-- said company announced an agreement with BellSouth Corp (NYSE:BLS - news) to ship additional equipment in April, but U.S. Bancorp said expected earlier shipping and therefore cut eps views.

-- Shares of company traded up 1-1/4 to 44-1/4 late Thursday.
