I'm beginning to talk to myself here, Curtis. Do we have a point of contention at this juncture separating our views? Or are we now in agreement that an OADM device like the Corestream can, in fact, read SONET overhead bytes? We do tend to drift here, quite a bit, don't we? Perhaps you regarded OADMs as merely transparent DWDMs with mechanical (prism & mirror-based) switching, earlier? If so, that would account for a part of the misunderstanding. Having said that, I'm still not sure what's taking place inside this box, opague or otherwise. I'll find out, though, and post back when I do. Regards, Frank
