Ted - Re: "But these are not cpu functions. I thought that Scumbria was saying that the embedded processors were the equivalent of CPUs which would mean that they could handle equivalent functions."

You must be confusing CPU functions with PC functions, where the ability to execute x86 instruction set is of paramount importance.

Intel's embedded CPU program, with a focus on the StrongARM architecture, will make Intel a dominant player in the embedded CPU "space" - and my guess Intel is focusing on communication devices.

DOn't forget - Intel will have the ability to combine StrongARM CPUS with their FLASH technology - and DSP CDMA chip sets - to make them a big time player in wireless/Cellular communications.
