DBA/Altigen Press Release Follow Up

I my last note, I stated that I thought the info in the recent DBA/Altigen press release was old news. I checked through my DBA file and found the attached claim in the DBA 1998 Annual Report. Based on this it seems that both the deal with Altigen and Ingram Micro are both over a year old.

Why this would be announced now as new news seems a bit odd. Should we assume that it is better to re-release old news than no news? Is it also possible that DBA is trying to get some good news on the wire before they announce another loss for the last quarter?

Any comments?

From the 1998 annual report. "DBA Telecom has forged alliances with leading manufacturers and distributors in the USA, thereby making the SmarTalk¦ products available through their worldwide networks of dealers. At present, DBA Telecom has a marketing alliance with Altigen Communications, the world's leading manufacturer of server based phone systems for small to mid-sized businesses, and a supply agreement with Ingram Micro, the largest worldwide distributor of computer technology products and services."
