You must be confusing CPU functions with PC functions, where the ability to execute x86 instruction set is of paramount importance.

Not so much confusing the functions as not being clear on the distinctions. Goutama's post has made it more evident to me the role of the different chips.

DOn't forget - Intel will have the ability to combine StrongARM CPUS with their FLASH technology - and DSP CDMA chip sets - to make them a big time player in wireless/Cellular communications.

Isn't that a bit of an overkill? Combining 'the intelligence' of a cpu with flash in order to run wireless applications.....I recognize that an embedded cpu is not a pc microprocessor in terms of capability but it still seems like more power than necessary.
