To all:

Happy New Year

Also, a best new millennium. I know there are Luddites around (none on this thread, to be sure) who seem to think the millennium doesn't happen for another year. Well, there is plenty of precedent in history for changing the calendar to usher in a new age. What more appropriate time, says I, to usher in the computer age than by taking a year off the calendar to convert from 1-based to zero-based. Sure, our forfathers started at one, but we computer geeks always start at zero. So Hurrah for enlightenment!

If anybody wants to argue that the millennium starts next year, tell 'em that's old hat. If they insist, refer 'em to me. That'll shut 'em up, I betcha!

Happy New Millennium
