"This is what I call "the herding instinct". The switch to broadband is inevitable, its just that @home will benefit more if it is sooner rather than later."

"Fortunately the herds have a moment of critical mass when suddenly something no one wanted becomes a "gotta have". We are almost to that point. Suddenly the herd becomes a stampede."

Happy New Year Eric- I had an interesting discussion with a guy at a party last night. We were talking about his sixth grade daughter and her friends. He said the "in thing" right now is to chat with students from the other elementary schools in our district. There are a total of four buildings. He said she has made friends with these kids and chats with them often. They have even met each other at various times. His daughter has 95 friends that subscribe and participate in AOL chat. That is quite a herd and shows the dominance of AOL! Nothing was mentioned about @Home.

What will it take to steer that herd to another drinking hole and pasture (@Home)? Will speed do this? I continue to get the same answer when I ask, "Why do you have AOL?" Answer: "All my daughter's friends have it."

Your Will Rogers comments are welcomed and enjoyed. I love your "herding" concept.
