Charles, Austin has entered the new year without incident, and my computer, Internet connection, etc. appear fine. Much ado about nothing, IMHO.
You did, of course power down and reboot, right? Have to admit I held my breath over this one a bit this a.m. Pentium minimum (vs. 486 or older) should be OK. Same with Windows 98. Testing at work on a particular product line proved out Pentium based good for Y2K, even with OS/2!
You guys products are mentioned as used in something like 90% of serious Internet dependent companies, along with Cisco, EMC and Oracle. Actually, I think Ellison is the one that includes Oracle. I believe the other three. I have Cisco and EMC shares, was never quite sure of Sun or Oracle. I probably won't buy Sun because then I'd worry about one of my other company's products, Intel, possibly making inroads into the server market with IA-64, and what the press might do with that. However, that probably won't happen until product starts shipping in 2H00. Maybe I should buy and watch. Then there's W2000. Again, the press might do more damage to Sun stock than the product. Enough rambling.
Happy New Year.
