[Amati and cable]

<<<Other than web-site engineering, I haven't seen any evidence that Amati is involved in cable.>>>

Hi, Geof!

I was told they attend meetings but aren't actively working on cable products at the moment. If a market develops, they'll address it.

The FCC document makes it clear the big problem with cable in terms of relieving network congstion is the fact most of the installed fibre would have to be replaced to become two-way. Getting Internet traffic off the voice network is the goal and being connected for the return path ties up the lines the same as for two-way.

But I digress.

Cheers!

Pat
