I would think that at this time most folks already have all the AOL they can swallow.

I think your extrapolation of the past is simply not valid. I don't see AOL going into the gutter, but the valuation is rich now. With all the recent increase in margin debt and money supply, why would any stock (even AOL) be going down at this point?

Yes, and AOL has had it's ride. In the next move you will see the established i-net companies adapt to try to keep their market share as the rapidly changing internet framework adapts and retools for the future. Broadband, free-services, etc... AOL's lifeline is still member's subscriber fees.

It has been proven in the past and present, not the future. You can't ignore that future earnings growth is already priced in.

Sure, you probably got in years ago and are a long term holder trying to convince newbies that stocks only go up. Maybe, maybe not. Up to this point it's been good to be a long-term holder, but who can really tell the future.
