KZAP, From what I'm reading and after looking at the list, I'm not so sure all the HYPE in the world will make this list fly.
All of his early HYPE for SCOC hasn't done that much for the stock. It think you have a bunch of people holding it that were talked into it by Steve not by DD. If someone says boo in this market, those same people will fall all over each other to get out of SCOC IMO.
Let's take an unbiased look. All those who bought SCOC because of Steve Harmon and not DD, raise your hands. Now all of you people with your hands up, look a quote of TGLO and CDNW. Those are two of Steve's stocks (in print) from his original list for 1999. Now where is your comfort level with SCOC if profit takers hit it on January 3rd?
To be honest for what he dropped from the 1999 for some on the 2000 list, you really have to wonder exactly why he made the picks he did. I will point out the countless times Steve has hyped GNET, CHTR and Broadband Partners while GNET was a pick in 1999 but now in 2000, they don't make the list but SPGY, SCOC, PCNFT and USIT do? He drops DCLK and keeps AOL?
I don't think the street is stupid. I think you have to question this list. It defies any logic God has given me and in my mind there is a undisclosed reason for several of the 2000 picks. Why do you drop GNET and add a SPYG or PCNTF? So after all of Steve's HYPE about Paul Allen he would rather bet on SPYG and PCNFT than GNET?
I would not bet on this list, I will bet you see some shorting on some of these picks as soon as the suckers are in.
BTW you are wrong about $99 being nothing. If someone thought they were paying for one thing and got another, somebody did some bad business.
There is a rule for all corporations or any business, Business 101: Take care of your customer or someone else will.
$99 is something. I think $99 will end up costing someone millions in the long run.
Happy New Year, BLUE
