Tony - Re: "Question: do you have any timeframe in your mind when Intel may be introducing such products?"

Intel should be delivering DSP's CDMA newer phone chips (non-integrated) in the early to mid part of this year.

I think the integrated logic/Flash chips will be introduced very late this year (2000) and be essentially a "2001" product.

Over time, Intel should be able to combine the controller, DSP, CDMA and Flash functions into one piece of silicon.

These will appear first as 0.18 micron devices.

However, Intel is making great strides in their 0.13 micron program, and eventually the integrated cell phone/communications chips will migrate to that technology - probably in the late 2001 time frame.

By that time - late 2001 - Intel's position as a dominant supplier of wireless/Cell phone silicon and Communications (router/switch) silicon controllers will be evident - even to the most ignorant of analysts (Drew Peck & Jonathan Joseph - are you reading this ?).
