Brian, I do not spurn teachers who meet the qualifications you have shown, I hope by scripture. There were no quotation marks. I just do not believe that you have yet met the qualifications you have presented. If you believe in these qualifications, then anyone can earn the position of teacher. Earning a position, I respect but, it has nothing to do with the special election by God. Christ did not set rulers in His church, He merely outlined the qualifications for such rulers. Very few men today can meet these qualifications.
The "puritan" principles you cite are admirable but, you must admit, that these principles were written by mortal men. The need now, is for all men to practice these principles. Since "God alone is the Lord of conscience", why do you consistently put yourself in His place? If you would desist from acting as if God were speaking from your mouth alone, among all men, you would not be branded the egotist that you portray. You, actually, usurp God's role.
