Always did, since college anyway. Went to private schools up until then.

50's, 60's I recall there was more of an ethnic split; my area anyway. It was a working class town. It was a world apart from the private schools, particularly high school. The awareness levels were much higher; once I started attending there my friendships with the locals waned quite a bit.

Now I think there is less of a divide but the relationships can be more intense. My town was the subject of a NY Times Magazine article on integration recently. The paper seemed to gloss over quite a bit. It is an odd town though; you go to one end and there are people who seem to just make ends meet. You go to the other side and your neighbors might be John McMullen, Yogi Berra, Bill Bradley. Colors, Creeds and backgrounds represented on both sides.

Today is different from the 50s though. In the 50s you knew all you neighbors, you talked with them quite a bit and you rarely locked your doors. Now I know all my neighbors but never speak with them and I have a security system on the house.

I have a friend who knows Chase fairly well. He told me yesterday he knows guys in the area who would swear that some of their crews must be getting paid to sell stories to HBO because of the similarities to what they have done and what the show airs. For example, there is a guy who owned a restaurant with such and such a name and another restaurant in Newark that burned down some years back.

The first Sopranos had a restaurant which was burned down with a similar name to the one in Newark; the owner of the restaurant in the Soprano's had a similar name to the owner of the local restaurant nearby. Lot's of strange co-incidences.

<indicators are all turning UP>

Saw that. From around the 30ish level if I recall. Hard to believe. If that means anything then I'm glad I exited my Shorts late Friday. I was tempted to hang on but the late drop had to be taken advantage of. Too burned out from last night to get anything accomplished today for Monday though. I was thinking a Gap Lower, below Friday's Low of 1478 might provide a Long Opportunity. But at this point I don't know if the Long could be sustained overnight. I still think eventually there are some gaps to fill further south.

Time shall tell, I suppose.
