The speculation about the Xinjiang mummies being Celtic does not rely on the color of their hair, but with their textiles, which are not Chinese. The closest similar textiles were found in European Celtic sites. The textiles were found in numerous burial sites, spaced over hundreds of miles, and hundreds of years. I will edit with a URL or two. However, the best source on the textiles is from a book entitled "The Mummies of Urumchi."
