I've been involved in the production of a lot of television, Del. I have seen a lot of BS and a lot of phoney people in action but I can tell you that I have only seen one production that involved deliberate use of material in a way to tell a known lie to a national audience. It was on one of PBS's award winning series. All of the mischief took place in the cut of the material and interview "questions" added after the fact. Watching television being made, Del, ain't any prettier that watching sausage being made. There is a lot of neat stuff on PBS -- and some crap. I haven't noticed a great change over the years. I am so glad you enjoy the Discovery channel and its kin. I have numerous acquaintances among powers and producers at Discovery. Lots of brilliant, creative, hard-working, women , minorities, gays and........Eeeeeeeek, conservatives! Don't forget to look under the bed before turning in -- Republican clergymen may be lurking. M
