janet, Ken Oshman was referred to as a man ahead of his time. My concern: has his time finally arrived? I've seen four or five mentions of home networking and embedded technology in home appliances over the past month. You can reduce your risk dramatically by investing according to the manual's edict that we wait for the first pin in the bowling alley to be knocked down before we invest in apps and that we wait until the start of the tornado to invest in enabling technologies. Based on your description, my guess is that it is an enabling technology. Generally, there are not many enabling competitors. I think the home network management space will prove to be an exception. --Mike Buckley
