I think they may lose credibility in your eyes, but not in mine.

"I'm talking about the loudmouths who come forward in January and talk about their brilliant November trades."

My interpretation of NiceGuy's post was, investing in AMD doesn't necessarily mean the investor has lost money, since it depends upon the positions of the trades.

I don't share this opinion. Trust can be a self-fulfilling prophecy to a certain extent. And, high expectations tend to deliver high results/attributes, in both people and projects.
