Happy New Year, everyone! It's simply exhilarating to know that we've made the transition to the new millennium without any major problems, worldwide. Some would say it's miraculous, some would say "wait and see," but I hope that most of us will just give thanks that things have gone so well.

Personally, as many of you know, I was very well prepared for loss of power, water, and so forth. But I've asked myself whether I would have done the same thing over again, and the answer is "yes." I'm simply a risk-averse person, and it gave me great peace of mind to be well-prepared.

Truly, I'll be a happy camper as I send my canned goods to local food pantries. The stored tap water will gradually make its way into the washing machine, and so on.

My only "regret" is that we didn't get to have an "SI party" at my house with kholt and Cheeky <g>.

I hope that the new millennium brings peace and joy to one and all.
