Ken, I can understand if it takes the place of tape backup but I would like to know why you think the recordable CD rom cannot take the place of the zip(dont they serve the same purpose). IMO CDROM will be around as most of the software nowadays is distributed on CD's and will continue to do so atleast in the near future. nagesh
