Hello BP,
I haven't posted for while . . . nothing to add. Anyway, I hope you've been well.
I thought I would mention that I just received Dell's January 2000 catalog in the mail. And, Rambus is touted as their "Cutting-Edge Technology . . . Experience Breakthrough RDRAM Memory." The advertisement goes on to say "Discover up to 512MB of New PC800 RDRAM at 400MHz--which means multitasking won't significantly slow down processor speeds--full-speed caching, a 116% memory boost . . . ." On the opposite page, four models are quoted at $3,149, $2,799, $2,299, and $1,899 for 733MHz, 667MHz, 600EB MHz, and 533EB MHz, respectfully.
I would be interested in any predictions on how this may pan out, relative to SDRAM sales.
Incidentally, Dr. Hed, I apologize for not getting back to you. I've been negotiating with my company, and I believe I'm going off on my own. Quite a turbulent time. I hope you understand.
