Len, Prior to this announcement Intel was unable to get RDRAM to work with 3 RIMM MOBO's This problem was Unknown to Intel. Obviously they didn't do enough testing. DELL found this problem and quickly stopped all RDRAM advertisement. This is what caused the delay in CAMINO, and ticked off DELL because Intel didn't have an answer. At any rate Intel did a fix by going to a 2RIMM MOBO that worked. It is still thought that the 3 RIMM problem was with Intel and not with Rambus, although some here will debate that. Thus a 3RIMM announcement now outside of Intel is news since it says a solution has been found for 3RIMM. Anything other than this you will have to find out from the techies here that I am sure will chime in soon.
