Kaiser says buy Atna and hope for a spec cycle
Atna Resources Ltd ATN

Friday Dec 31 1999
John Kaiser, writing in the November-December Bottom-Fishing Report (Dec. 28), says Atna Resources is a buy at 53 cents. Atna now joins Mr. Kaiser's list of 20 picks for 2000. Mr. Kaiser recommended the stock in December, 1998, at 67 cents. Earlier buy tips date to November, 1994 (30 cents), which was the lowest-price recommendation, and December, 1997, at $1.16, the high. In the current report, Mr. Kaiser notes Atna is a 40-per-cent joint venture partner with Expatriate on the 6.2 million tonne Wolverine polymetallic deposit in the Yukon. The project is burdened by a high selenium content, however. Cominco's nearby Kudz de Kayah deposit may improve the economics substantially, he says. Mr. Kaiser counsels that an alternative to whittling the $12-million treasury away through drill programs might be an asset acquisition strategy. For this to be effective, however, Peter Delancey will need to get a speculation cycle going, Mr. Kaiser contends.
