Stew and others....In my Sunday newspaper was an article, obviously syndicated, by someone from, I believe, Knight-Ridder. It was on the Echostar/WebTV Dish 500 system. Very positive review....and a stake in the heart of TIVO since it points out that the system provides the pause and record features on a hard drive, like TIVO, but with more data storage capability and less cost. The reviewer seemed to be one of those guys who hasn't looked closely at TV technology for a while, then suddenly was amazed to see what is out there. Anyway, he was very, very positive on the system and indicated DirectTV will have a TIVO based system later this year. Same concept, but even more storage. The article mentions the Guide and says it is the best the reviewer had ever seen....that is it. The Guide never gets any respect..just revenue, I suppose. Anyone else see the article? Sorry I did not keep it or I would quote it verbatim.
