Frank,
Last year it was a shopping list of all the G&K types we could think of. This year I proposed that it be a reflection of the typical Ggamer's portfolio, based on the statistical analysis contributed by Apollo. I've enjoyed the debate, and am gratified that everyone has strong opinions, but have yet to sense a consensus. Any suggestions?
Thanks for clarifying that. Frankly (no pun intended) the index isn't important to me and that is why I haven't kept abreast of the fundamental thinking about it. Understanding that, it's probably not a good idea to give my upcoming thought much weight, but you did ask. :)
I like the idea of continuing with the process of maintaining a shopping list. As more and more people join our wonderful community, the shopping list will take on a more diverse look as people of increasingly diverse backgrounds and disciplines join us.
To add another perspective, the notion of a shopping list implies for me that readers should do their own research and arrive at their own opinions, using the list as a point of departure at best. If, instead, the list becomes merely a reflection of participants' portfolios, it takes on a hint of promoting group-think which in my opinion slightly taints the integrity of our thread. You, I and most of us realize that's not the intention of reflecting participants' portfolios, but I'd prefer that none of us be put in the position of having to explain it, much less defend it.
Just my opinion.
