I do not mean this in any disrespectful way, and I have no desire whatsoever to hurt anyone's feelings or start any kind of fight, but this thread has been since its beginning a place where free thinkers and liberals and intellectuals and generally amusing and carefree and artistic spirits are comfortable expressing themselves. Certainly all reasonably polite people are welcome to jump in and join whatever discussion is taking place, and there are quite a few libertarians here, and conservatives like Ish and Michael Cummings and Michael M. and Duncan who have been dropping by here for a pretty long time. Without dissent or open exchange of ideas, it would be a very boring place indeed, and obviously it is a public place as well.
But Feelings will never be a thread dominated by conservatives, or where their world view is considered automatic right think, for want of a better phrase, or where it is okay to attack more liberal people simply because they live and breathe. I honestly do not see Schuh and Cobalt as spewing venom here at all; I see a few conservative posters who are somehow determined to dominate and/or take over, and that WILL cause a lot of friction. Since these posters are, in the time line of SI, very recent arrivals here, certainly if they are very unhappy they might consider moving to a thread where they do not feel like targets, and where their pronouncements on reality will not be challenged by people who might have different world views which include support of ideas like breast feeding in public, NO SPANKING, the acceptance of global warming as scientific fact, and other ideologies which seem to disturb the peace of conservatives on a pretty regular basis.
